Dane Lancaster

In Dane’s current role as Chief Technology Officer for the Marin County Office of Education, he is responsible for the technology infrastructure that supports the instructional and administrative systems used by Marin County’s 20 school districts and its 36,000 students. As 2015 chair of the California County Superintendents Educational Association’s Technology and Telecommunications Steering Committee Dane’s work targeted new legislation related to student data privacy, the evolving role of the K12 Chief Technology Official, and their role in eliminating the achievement gap and improving academic performance of all students in California. He is the founder of the annual MARINOVATORS Student Science, Art, and Technology Showcase at the College of Marin. His current passion and focus is exploring how VR/AR can enhance teaching and learning in K-12.
