In December, 2015, the Immersive Technology Alliance published what was then the most accurate sales model for virtual reality device sales through Meant to be Seen, Jon Peddie Research, Gamasutra, Display Daily, and more. Still holding up today, the model covered the first twelve months of VR sales and the potential moving forward for devices like the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Sony PlayStation VR, and mobile devices like the Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream Viewer. Realization of the findings resulted in the market rethinking how its future will play out in a measurable fashion.
